Again, it's just another reduction in how you can weaponize that cap space where before, I have a couple of million of space, I might as well be a broker on a deal and turn that into something.

Now, you can't really do that.

I think they'll be underwhelmed.

And I say this because even in the past when cap space was tighter, I thought that teams got off easy on getting rid of some contracts.

I look at last year, you know, Carey Price got moved, Shea Weber got moved.

Those are completely like kind of zombie contracts, right, with the players not playing.

And the return was very light to like Montreal out of LTIR to move Carey Price and to move Shea Weber.

I thought the prices were light in those days.

So I think now with more cap space, more teams being open to it, I think it's going to further reduce the asset that you get.

I think the place, but I think it's not a one size fits all answer.

I think where it seems like the return is underwhelming is when a team would like to shed some space, but they don't have to, they're not desperate.

And that's where they can go around and see if a team wants to give, if they'll take a fourth or fifth round pick to take a bad contract.

I think, though, where teams can get a better return is the teams that are more desperate, like where the team has to move someone.

You look at New Jersey likely really needs to move some cap space.

Edmonton has some players that likely want to move if they want to make some other big moves.

Those are the teams where they seem to end up having to pay more to move the cap space.

So I would say in this current environment and for the Canucks trying to weaponize their space, every dollar of cap space isn't worth the same.

It's more about being opportunistic and finding the teams that are more desperate.

and hopefully there's not too much competition to help them with that problem.
