a big strong defenseman a couple years ago la signed edmondson four years just under four million um you know obviously more track record and but i i think i'd rather take a darnay a little bit younger and and and maybe there's some room for improvement where edmondson you know you worry about him staying upright so maybe that was one of the comparables but yeah i that was a big one shocking

I think if you look at his, like how he performed for the season, that's a pretty reasonable deal.

I mean, you know, maybe one year longer than you'd like.

The challenge would be he looked so good in Columbus and had such a bad part to the season in Seattle, right?

And so which player are you getting?

It really was a tale of two players.

So if he's going to perform like he did in Columbus, I think that deal will be, you know, look quite good, especially the first few years.

And, you know, yeah, maybe that last year

Or two, he falls off a bit.

But if he's even kind of in between those two players last year, then that's not going to do well because, you know, he's a player that seems like he has to play with an edge and have a lot of energy.

And you wonder, you know, after how poorly he went in Seattle and playing for a contract that...

Did that let a fire in him in Columbus?

And does he still have that now, fighting this big deal?

But he certainly wasn't on my list of, like, the worst ones, because I think, like he's shown in the past, he can live up to that contract.

Yeah, well, you know, we have to get used to the fact that the cap hits are higher than for players, and we were kind of, you know, conditioned to expect it, just with the rising cap.

To me, the gender is just that it's the extra year.

I actually had, maybe in January, I had a team that was, you know, doing their prep and thinking about it maybe as a trade deadline acquisition and then extension, like, had me look at.

And then at the time, he was, you know, he started the year really hot.

And so in January, I had him at maybe three times 5.75.
