Like it reminded me of reading like The Circle by Dave Eggers, you know, because even some of the kids stuff, like very, very helpful and useful in many ways.
But then the amount, the way that they describe some of this stuff with like,
the data that they may have on like a kid's usage habits, for example, they say they're not going to save it.
But it's just the data that is available there is a little scary when it comes to hourly usage, daily usage, what time of day kids are using what.
It's just there is a lot of data there that Apple has at their disposal.
And as we've seen in the past, can we always trust tech companies to do what they're going to say, what they say they're going to do with data?
No.
So it creeped me out a little bit.
I think the problem here is going to be, or I think what they're banking on here is that they are going to have a whole new market.
Because, you know, with AI assistants in general and voice assistants, like, there is a totally different demographic that is super loyal users of Siri, in my experience.
Like, my anecdotal experience in my personal life, it's a lot of my friends' parents, my parents, ask Siri this, ask Siri that.
They're, like, extremely loyal users.
And none of my friends do that.
And so I think that what Apple is banking on here is just getting...
the AI assistant experience into a totally new demographic and market, one that's kind of impossible to ignore.
And they're going to have to be careful because they don't want it to be like a Windows, Microsoft 11 situation where it's just forced into everything.
But it seems like I think their biggest boon here is going to be that talking to Siri as a chatbot looks like an iMessage.
There's an automatic voice mode button at the bottom of the message.
There's a lot of ways that
Anyone could easily use this without any friction at all, which is a good and a bad thing.
