Uh of course you you sort of back yourself that you want to be competitive, but I I think um deep down I think even to try and be in the top five was gonna be a long shot, so uh it was certainly a surprise to be as competitive as what we were and

Yeah, nice surprise, you know, considering it was our first time on gravel and uh in so long.

So um yeah, it gelled

Uh yeah, definitely.

It was that definitely that sort of reality check going, Okay, this is actually quite a a f what a feeling that we were used to many years ago, but we we wouldn't expect them to be in that position this weekend.

Um but it was just one of those rallies where everything sort of clicked, um everything felt easy.

Often when things feel easy, uh that's when the performance comes.

So yeah, it was a nice position to be in, but in saying that we were expecting a lot of rain over the weekend and we're just, you know, holding out for that rain 'cause we we knew that was gonna throw the rally on its head, but

It never come.

Uh and knowing what we know now, you you you know, we may have could have and probably should have pushed harder to to maybe

Oh well I think for us coming from New Zealand, you know, as New Zealand young rally drivers, all our rallies are are gravel.

So we learn to grow up and learn how you know the car moving around on on a gravel surface.

But in in Europe a lot of the rallies are atarmic, so they learn to grow grow up on atomic surface.

So for us it's just more natural, um, something we're more used to and you know, obviously earlier in the year we've just been doing tarmic rallies, which we've done a lot of time on now over my over my many years of rallying, but it's still not

you know, a hundred percent as comfortable as what Gravel was, so

you know, let us loose on gravel, then we can sort of unleash the shackles a little bit and get into our comfort zone and that's where things just happen a lot more naturally.

Yeah, it definitely takes a lot of adaptation.

Um there's there's no substitute for seat time and and when we're not on this car all the time, uh, you know, that is the hardest thing for us to adapt to.

You know, you get back into the car after several months away and
