But I just, is there any chance I could still get it back?
So he got in touch with Emirates and they did manage to get his money back for him.
He was obviously owed this, you know, at the time airlines, as they're doing now, would tend to say, if your flight doesn't go, you can get a full refund, you know, everything you're owed.
And that's what Emirates did do for everyone.
I think it was a set period between the end of February and the end of May 2020.
Sort of no questions asked, a complete refund.
So he was completely entitled to the money.
If that happened to you, you are still entitled to the money.
It was basically it was a sort of technical issue that meant he didn't get it back initially.
So his flight was quite early in the lockdown.
So Emirates hadn't sort of set up their formal refund system yet.
So there was a special form that people had to fill out, but that hadn't been created yet.
So he just kind of went through their normal refund portal.
And then a few months later, they asked everyone to resubmit on their new COVID refund portal, which is something that he sort of missed, you know, didn't see the email or whatever and never did it.
And just because of that, he never ended up getting his money back, which I think is quite shocking.
And, you know, I think at that point, if it's been going on for so long, it should be really the airline's responsibility to say this money is sort of outstanding for him.
so long ago.
He did manage to get his money back.
It's just unfortunately, I think it just becomes a case, especially with airlines.
And look, I get that during COVID and now they're obviously extremely busy.
