We have huge amounts of support that we've provided to Ukraine already, and we will continue to provide that in non-lethal form.

So let me assure you and anybody listening that anything that we provide

It is non-lethal support, as well as the finance that we've supported them with to reinvest in the infrastructure that's been destroyed, as well as, you know, the many, many people who are here that we supported who came when the war started and who are still coming to escape the conflict.

So, you know, we will make it very clear today when President Zelensky arrives that our support for them is steadfast because they are not just protecting Ukraine themselves.

they're protecting the whole of the EU.

And when I sit around the table with my 26 other colleagues, I mean, we are furthest away from the conflict.

But when you talk to those who are closest to us, the most important thing is that we are doing everything possible.

So by providing tanks or not, we've provided them in the past.

In this instance, it hasn't worked and it's not exactly what they were looking for because their technology, can I say, is moving at such a fast pace.

Well look I think we need to offer what we have and what we can support them with but their technology I've spoken to their Minister for Defence a number of times I mean they are moving at such a pace that most other countries are not and I think that's something that other countries will look to in terms of defence capabilities but we will continue to provide that support in whatever way possible because as I said they are not just supporting Ukraine and defending Ukraine they are actually defending the whole of the EU.

And from the first meeting I had back in November in this current role...

where three or four countries, Ireland myself included, advocated for a stronger response from Europe, including sanctioning, you know, actions by the Israeli government, including banning trade, including suspending the trade association agreement that we have for this preferential treatment.

What I've seen over the last number of months is that number starting to increase and that feeling within the council completely changed.

So at the last meeting, myself, along with two or three other member states, led the charge in advocating that the Commission would bring forward more concrete proposals that would specifically focus on banning trade in the occupied territories.

There is another proposal on the table around banning the association agreement.

That's not going to get support.

I'll be honest, I don't believe... That needs unanimity, does it?

That needs unanimity because it is a foreign affairs matter.
