I would like to recommend something that Helen loved when she was growing up because she wasn't a breakfast girl.
So once I hit on this recipe, I made it for years every morning before she went to school.
It's French toast.
It's a really simple recipe.
If you do not know it, you can look it up or I can just give you a quick rundown.
You just get a pan, soak the fresh bread in egg
And a little bit of brown sugar, a little bit of vanilla, a little bit of milk.
Let it soak and then pop it into a pan and make it crunchy or just slightly golden brown.
Cook through and serve it with a fresh sprinkling of brown sugar.
You can put a little bit of lemon too if you want.
But Helen loved it and...
It was better that she ate something than nothing.
