So we've heard these two very, very different presentations of why and how Lindsay Clancy acted in that moment.
Even though nobody has denied that she killed her three children, this case is centering around whether or not she can be held responsible for that.
Many people are seeing this as a trial that has the potential to set precedents for future cases.
This is a very little known about, little researched condition.
And it has led to this swell, really, of campaigning around the case with many women in particular, including some who have gathered outside the courthouse, calling for more support for mothers suffering with this condition, more research into the condition.
I think it is fascinating.
certainly a very unusual case and that is why it has gripped the nation so strongly.
I think what is also so complex about it is it is essentially asking jurors to try to decide and distinguish where the line is between somebody being mentally ill or so mentally ill that they cannot become criminally responsible for something.
And I think that is why morally, medically, this has been such a hard case for them to assess.
