I mean, sometimes I think, and this goes back to
something you mentioned in your question.
I think we just, we do use these kinds of locutions far too much and it's become a kind of verbal fashion.
Just how they come about is a bit of a mystery.
So I think in many cases we could just take it away and nothing very important would remain.

So I think one strategy is just get rid of it.
What you would lose is maybe a bit of modesty and caution.
In other cases, you could try to make that modesty and caution a bit more explicit, but whichever way you go, there's no reason to think that just because we use those terms, we are committing to or talking about a source of evidence or a certain special kind of evidence.
That's the thesis anyway, in part one of the book.

I really think that movement is just an absolute, complete failure.
And there isn't anything good about it.
And I wish I didn't have to say that.
But that really is what I think.
I think it is fundamentally based on the assumption that what we do as philosophers is founded on intuitive judgments.
That assumption is not true.
