So why didn't you?

Long story, short story.

Long story.

I sat in that dining room.

And I, because I like to eat dinner at places before I took a job.

Obviously, this is more of that, like, you know, thing where I have to, like, feel the walls and be a part of it and, like, what is it telling me?

It must sound so crazy.

But, like, I sat there and the white tablecloth and the food was delicious.

And...

And I was like, I'm never going to be me here.

Not even necessarily formal, but like there was like such a history to it that I felt like I couldn't rewrite that history with my own voice.

No, I don't mind doing that.

I think I was in a phase in my career that I wanted to be able to figure out who I really was and allow myself to unfold that as opposed to putting myself into a parameters in a box that I didn't create.

Yeah, I opened it.

I got to create, I got to build that box, right, that I wanted to be in.

And I felt like going back to a job that I didn't feel like it was the right fit for me at that time.

It took a lot to say no.

I was like, oh my God, I can't believe I'm about to say no to Danny Meyer.

I think they understood my feelings.

I would guess so.
