And I learned in such a painful time.
I wanted to just, I wanted to focus on my grief.
But I couldn't.
for my mother.
But my father, unfortunately, passed away in five years.
Actually, at the middle of my writing this book, he passed away.
But in his case, we didn't do a Buddhist style of funeral, partially just because it was a COVID-19 time.
We had to have a social distancing.
But also, we wanted to make it very personal.
It was very small.
My husband, my sister's family, and that was it.
But we put a lot of the memorial things in his coffin.
We spent time together in his coffin.
And it's just, we let him go.
So I just realised that the spirituality to us is really helpful, especially in hardship, hard times.
But also when things don't work, we can also let it go.
Kumano Kodo is very interesting because, yes, it's a hiking trail.
But those hiking trails are connected to the different holy grounds.
One is Shigenzo Temple, Kimsenji.
And the other one goes to Buddhist temple, Koya-san.
