And what he's insinuating here is the crowd wouldn't listen because the umpire was a woman.

What if his point that he's making, which is that the crowd isn't listening to her, doesn't that tell you a truth about the crowd?
Because maybe it's true.
I reckon too that there would be some boy mums who would be policing the identity of boy mum and say maybe you have to have only boys to be a boy mum.
Yeah, actually that's true.
You know, whatever.
