I think I have two feelings around it.
Yes, disappointed not to be able to complete it, but I think a sensible decision, given the protocols that were suggested and the fact that clubs probably wouldn't have been able to fulfil those protocols.
And I think the health and wellbeing and safety of the players is paramount.
I support the decision to terminate, given all those factors.
I think the situation in Germany is a tad different to the situation in England.
I believe they went into lockdown a lot earlier.
We went a little bit later, had more, unfortunately, more deaths.
So I think they were a bit ahead of us and maybe were in a better position to start the league and certainly the men's club supporting the women's clubs.
i think here um you know we were a bit later um you know in itself more deaths creates more challenges and i think the protocols that that they want to put in place and rightly so are too far reaching certainly for women's clubs i think most clubs certainly had a budget and and then to to you know have additional costs
you know what, it just probably would have been too much for clubs to handle and to endure.
And in some cases, probably would have had a knock-on effect to next season's budget.
So while I appreciate some clubs in Europe, the Bundesliga, they've gone back, I think it's absolutely the right decision for the WSO and the championship at this time.
I must say there was a lot of consultation with the FA,
within the clubs.
I think the FA took the right approach by engaging all the clubs, seeking opinions.
And when it came down to it, it was about the safety, the well-being of both staff and players and the risk, not just the finance, the risk probably was, you know,
too much, and then you add that into the finance, it just becomes unrealistic, I think.
So with all respect, while we wanted the league to go on and we wanted to complete it, I think it's the right decision.
