We had people over for dinner last night, and one of the guys, and we were talking about so-and-so, who was a character of some kind, and one of the guys said, well, you know what?

His father treated him like hell.

I just never wanted to be that father.

And it's amazing how many men, and especially successful men, have to assert their superiority over their sons.

Maybe daughters, too, but I think it's more with sons.

And I guess it's Freudian or something else.

But what a terrible thing that you have to, if you have this kid, and you have to prove you're smarter.

And so, you know, I mean, I always let Andrew be smarter than me in some things.
