I um I love doing stand up comedy, but I hate travelling.

Because, you know, like I I um y it's well documented that I'm afraid of the germs and the icky people that you might bump into in a hotel room.

And uh so I remember one particular gig I got a call through the comedy store actually, I got a call and said, Would you do a private party in a house here in LA?

And I thought, you know, it'd be nice not to travel.

That's the the ultimately I get off the road to do what I do on the road.

But I said, No, I don't do private parties.

You know, I'm on television and that and and I hung up the phone and an hour later they called me back and they said uh you know, he's willing to uh offer you any amount of money.

And I said, Any amount of money?

All right, this is this'll be crazy.

And I gave them an amount of money that beyond what I get paid to do television or whatever.

And then I hung up the phone and uh lo and behold I got a call back.

And they said, Okay.

And then I thought this is a little bit creepy, so then I called back and I said it's gotta be cash.

And then they called back and they said, Okay.

And I said, You gotta give it to me ahead of time.

I was so nervous.

And and the the money arrived at the comedy store.

And that Saturday night it was his house in Benedict Canyon.

It was supposed to be a surprise for this guy who said that I was his favorite comedian.

So I I said to my wife, Would you like to come on on the road?
