And so that's why I give people who are in those situations a bit of a free pass because I know what it's like.

If you equate happiness to being the number one or, yeah, being the best, it is a dangerous game because there's no way it's going to stay.

No one escapes it.

Yeah, no one escapes that before.

Again, it was from, I think, probably from my dad, to be honest, who I think had that desire as well.

And my dad was a clever guy.

who was a good sports person but never really, I think, fulfilled his potential for whatever reason.

I think alcohol did get in the way.

It was partly part of the reasons.

But I think he used to say to me, you won't be as good as me unless you get, you know, this amount of votes in the local best and fairest, which is the local footy club.

He was in a higher football league than I got to.

But I think that was just that his desire to –

be seen as being you know the best in a way sort of came down to me and i i took that on board yeah you know but he would also say family is the most important thing dave and at the time i didn't agree i'm like no being number one is the most important thing dan yeah but now in the end i do realize he was right you know family is the most important thing or just having friends whether it's
