And one of the things about it is the reason that they come up to me, it doesn't have anything to do with politics. matched

It has to do with my story of recovery and addiction. matched

Yeah. matched

They know me as that, and they now have heard me talk about that journey. matched

And 50 million Americans on a daily basis are suffering, still sick and suffering, in their addiction, in their attempt towards recovery. matched

Which means that if 50 million Americans are stuck in... matched

are in addiction in the struggle of addiction then that means 350 million americans are affected by it in some way there's not a there's not a single person i've ever met that has not had a personal story about how addiction has impacted their own lives and so matched

That's the avenue through which people feel that they have this connection, which is beautiful to me. matched

And in that, what I find is that all of the other stuff that we've been told about how we are so separate and we don't agree and that there's no way that we're going to find a way back towards each other and we're on the verge of a civil war, I think is a bunch of BS. matched

Now, I think that if we don't figure out a path, matched

to be able to realize that we are more connected than we are divided, then we are in for trouble. matched

And I'd like to be a part of the solution of being, you know, at least a part of the conversation of making people realize we have a lot more in common than we have to separate. matched

yeah but um so they were asking if why is hunter doing this is he positioning himself to run for office and should you run for office or be in office if you haven't here to announce i said why go ahead tell me what are you gonna announce no um that i'm not running for any office would you run for an office uh no not right now that's for sure and not for any other reason than this matched

is that I feel like right now I have this opportunity to actually really impact the lives of a lot of people just by sharing my story. matched

And once I share my story and it is infected by partisan politics, then a lot of people just automatically turn off. matched

And so right now, though, is that my audience is everybody. matched

And a lot of what I talk about is, for me, at least on platforms like X or otherwise, is the politics is the bait for people to come in and listen to my story, as we say in the program that I'm a part of, my experience, strength, and hope. matched

Well, we don't talk about it because it's kind of like a principle, but I'm in a 12-step program. matched
