At the end of the day, I'm always going to tell somebody, you do you.
I have an instructor...
It was funny.
It was me and one other guy.
We were the only two guys not running ARs.
He was running an AK.
I was running an ACR, which it's like an AR-18, but there's no dust cover to it.
It's more open tolerance AK-ish.
So if it falls and hits my bolt, it's going to fall right out through the magwell and clear and be gone.
But he was adamant about flicking up that dust cover.
And as much as me and the AK guy would laugh, we don't have to close the dust covers.
We're like, you know, it makes sense why it's there.
When the shooting is done, you've finished your threat, whatever, what is the harm in closing that thing, keeping it clear?
Yeah, Arizona versus Ohio versus North Carolina, but you know what?
You trip and fall and you go face down and therefore it's bolt face or ejection port down in the mud.
If that thing's shut,
it's a bit more clear.
I get it.
I don't think that one's really a bad habit for as minimal effort takes for you to close it up and do it.
