It really was surreal for me to arrive at.
For my first Open to be St.
Andrews to start with was something very special, right?
I played four practice rounds with Peter Thompson, Kel Nagel, Graham Marsh.
Played all four days, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
In those days, you played more and more practice rounds.
The more you played, the better you got to know the course.
So, uh, to have the guidance of, of, uh, Kel Nagel, who won the open in 1960 at St.
Andrews, uh, Tomo also won there and, and was, uh, you know, five-time open champion.
Graham Marsh was one of my idols, uh, you know, 15, 20 years older than me, but someone I always really respected to have them guide me around.
uh, around the home of golf was something very special.
And then of course, uh, to lead after two and three rounds and, and play with Tom Watson in that final group on the Sunday, uh, in my first open was something very special and something that really started my whole international career.
Cause it gave me the self-belief that I could do this.
Yeah, special memories.
