But how much that can you explain through tactics is going to be really interesting to see what the other things are now.

I think Wharton would be a really interesting one.

I think one of his biggest strengths is how quickly he sees the pitcher.

I think he knows his next action before he's received the ball and there's no hesitation whatsoever.

There's no chewing the ball.

He just releases it forwards quickly.

So he's a dream for receivers in the final third.

He's a dream for players who want the ball early.

Someone like Vert between the lines, brilliant.

Someone fast outside on the flanks will benefit from Wharton as well.

My question with Wharton previously was, I don't know if Slott is a good enough defensive coach to absorb Wharton and Vert in the same midfield.

I feel better about that now with Iriola, because I think Iriola's far better than Arnaz Slot on the defensive end.

So that gives me hope that you could absorb the pair of them and the system still be really tight and compact and horrible to play against.

But having said that,

I still don't think, and I will never think, that Wharton is a big spaces guy.

So if you're going to play basketball, if you're going to be covering loads of ground, then his weaknesses are going to look emphasised, which you obviously don't want.

But speaking of League One midfielders, there's a lad for Lille who I really like called Ayoub Bouadi.

18 years, but he's been a first teamer since he was 16.

He's over six foot.
