Am I a cocktail snob?
Or do bartenders just not know how to make drinks these days?
Because I've worked with WuTok for a while now, and for a long time I was helping him write his bar chemistry videos.
And because of that, just like via osmosis, I've learned a good amount about like cocktail making, classic cocktails, and
A lot of the bars we went to in Bushwick, like not just the dive bars, like also some cocktail bars, I'd go in, ask for something that's like kind of normal, like a blood and sand or like a penicillin, and like they would just stare at me blankly.
And like
I don't know.
Bartenders, if there's any bartenders watching, are those like normal drinks to ask for?
Because I feel like those are somewhat normal drinks to ask for.
Like classic cocktails.
Like sure it's not like a gen and tonic, but like it's a pretty classic I think a penicillin is a very classic cocktail.

Yeah, I was just very surprised at that.
And I think maybe I'm just spoiled 'cause in LA I can ask yeah, I every cocktail bar I've been to, you know, you can ask for a classic cocktail and they give you one.
So I don't know, maybe just a New York thing, maybe it's just uh
It's only a combination of factors, and I'll be honest, I probably am a bit snobbish too.
I also want to talk about the transportation aspect.
I liked how walkable the city is, but also at the same time
It's not that convenient.
Like I feel like people really overestimate how convenient the public transport is.
