Ims, what's your recco?

My recco is, I know we sometimes don't like doing this, but it's a podcast.

Yeah.

So, you know, a few weeks ago I recommended a podcast called Beth's Dead.

Yeah, I meant to listen to that.

It's really interesting.

So it's about this... Bit left for me.

It's about these people in the States and they call themselves the Free Birth Society.

And basically... Oh, they give birth in the sea.

No, but basically it started with this one woman who was kind of a doula, but she was never a midwife.

She was never a qualified midwife.

She was kind of a self-proclaimed midwife, but she wasn't trained as a midwife medically.

Mm-hmm.

and she basically started up this thing to try and empower women to give birth without any medical intervention she should be arrested and it became this whole big thing called the free birth society huge huge thing in america like popped off she was huge she had a popular like popped off popular like she's amazing yeah

yeah yeah yeah loads of people were on board um there were words like cult flowing around um in the kind of contra of it um but basically the documentary looks into it and then obvious well not obviously but some people might say obviously um

There started being issues when women would listen to her, go through it, not have any medical intervention, be home birthing, free birthing at home and things would go wrong.

That's on the rise here actually in the UK as well.

And I was speaking to my cousin about it and she's a midwife and she's like, we're well aware.
