And yet I was able to do it.

And that voice is never going to go away.
That voice is always with me.
But I always have to remind myself, no, that's not your voice.
Everything you've done, I tell myself, has turned out better than I could have imagined.
And my mother's voice says it's going to turn out badly.
It doesn't.
I just have to reiterate that over and over again because we're stuck with what was put in there when we were really small.

You know what I do?
It's funny because I have this little, I think when I was about 13 or 14, my father said, nobody will ever love you.
And I walk up Madison Avenue and somebody just leans in and says, I love you.
And it happens all the time, which is so lovely.
And I always say to myself, he was wrong.
