The thing about mocktails that's really important is it needs to have like an edge.
It needs lime.
It needs something acidic.
Otherwise, it just tastes like a fruit juice drink.
When I've been doing my TV shows, I really started out thinking I wanted to do a conversation with somebody and to really connect with them and find out who they are and what's interesting to them.
And we ended up doing a cooking show with a conversation, but I just found...
A very short conversation is hard because you end up actually doing an interview, not a conversation.
So, you know, if you have six minutes to do an interview in order to get to know somebody, it's pretty hard to do in six minutes.
I wanted a long-form conversation.
And so that's why I decided a podcast was really a better place to do that.
And so that's what I've done.
And so the conversation is about an hour and we edit it down to 45 minutes, but it's exactly the way it is.

Well, podcasts are really shows.
They're not really even podcasts anymore.
They're like TV shows.
And, you know, I've been cooking for 25 years on film and I just thought it was time to kind of shake it up.
wondering if it opens different opportunities, but it's easier for guests because everybody shows up in New York at some point.
So if they're coming to do a speaking engagement, I can ask them to just stop by and have a drink and have a conversation with me.
It's just much easier to get guests.
