And it was a great way to set up a podcast that would look beautiful.
And it was just kind of like everything I do.
I want my books to look beautiful.
I want them to be authentic, you know, like my style.
And I wanted people to feel really comfortable.
And so I think we really achieved it.
My first guest was Paul Carmichael.
And when we left each other, we just said it was just extraordinary that we'd never met before.
I felt like I'd known him forever.
And the hour conversation really got us to connect about we see things differently.
We come from totally different places, but we see things very similarly.
Like, we like doing things that are fun.
And when he set up his restaurant, Kabawa, which is the number one restaurant in the New York Times list of restaurants in New York, everything he did was in the furtherance of how can this be fun, including...
the music that's pumped into the bathrooms.
So he thinks about things really clearly in each detail and how can it be more fun.
And I do too.
I think that's a really important kind of factor when you're doing things, doing anything, but particularly when you're doing things publicly.
I just think if it's fun, people are really desperate to have fun.
I mean, we all work so hard, and the world is so stressful.
And if you can do something that's fun, that you can share with people, it's just so appealing.
