I'd just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

Now I'm being told I had six months to live.

Like, what am I going to do?

And I realized that I was going to be optimistic and I was going to come from joy because I had two kids too.

So don't forget, while I was looking for a different doctor to give me a different diagnosis, prognosis,

My children were young.

They were five and eight.

So I needed to be their mom and their light.

And so I it was sort of like forced on me to remember that I have two children watching me at this go through this.

So I think that put a different lens on it in terms of strength.

I never gave up.

I always wanted to live, but I wanted people to know I was okay if I didn't.

Because again, I had no control over the outcome.

I just knew how I could handle it.

And how I handled it was with grace, with joy, with optimism, with complete faith and trust in the doctors that I chose.

So at some point, you just have to allow.

I don't want to say give in, but allow yourself.

the choices that you made to believe that what is in the best interest of you to happen.

And that's how I handled it.

I'm a very spiritual person too.
