A nip at the neck, and in less than a week, they are ready to snack on mommy and daddy, granny and grampy.

If they are careful, avoid direct sunlight.

Feed regularly.

Try not to be decapitated.

Keep away from silver and iron.

If they follow those simple rules, they will outlast the human race.

Don't fight, Banner Watson.

The problem with the lesser ones above is that they are still fixated with human issues, human considerations.

Their bodies have changed and their souls are completely lost.

But they are not much different than one of you, petty, greedy, scared to die despite their place at the top of the food chain.

They seek fame and fortune.

They seek power and dominance.

They seek, they seek, they seek.

But we Old Ones are different.

Some of us are simply more experienced versions of the lesser vampires.

They have learned their secrets along the way and have listened.

They know that their flaws all derive from their origins.

From you humans!

I don't fault them for their flaws.

At least they are trying.
