uh nine ended up owning 2GB, someone else in uh high management said they would not do that deal unless Alan Jones was hosting breakfast.
And Ray Hadley said, well, little problem here.
I've got a piece of paper that says I'm doing breakfast for four million dollars.
Uh and they said, well you'll cost singo eighty five million and he said, All right, I'll stand down, but y you've got to meet the monetary value.
And so he kept doing the morning show on his evidence for four million dollars a year.
He said he was happy to do that.
He said to the court, I said I'd do midnight to dawn for four million dollars if you wanted me to.
Uh, and there was a few laughs with that evidence.
Um, and that was his story as to why this contract negotiation ended up the way that it did.
Yes, that's right.
Peter Costello supposedly uh was insisting that for John Singleton to uh do the deal that uh Alan Jones had to be doing breakfast.
Um there were a few high profile names thrown around uh yesterday.
These are massive media deals that we're talking about with
um some pretty big numbers in the background.
