But basically what happened was as you say, Ray Hadley winked apparently during his evidence, a uh truly strange thing to do.

The defence thought he was winking at the DPP.

He says, No, no, no, I was winking at this person and sort of points towards me who's sitting directly behind the D P P and everyone turned to look to look at me and I was like, I I actually didn't see it.

I was looking, you know, I was taking notes.

And he said, sorry, I was I was winking at one of the reporters who called me yesterday or today scruffy in an article.

He said, I think it was uh this woman from the Sydney Morning Herald, but I d actually now don't think that that woman in the white coat is from the Sydney Morning Herald and I was like shaking my head like, Not me.

But

The the defence and the judge picked up on his wording of called me yesterday or today.

Uh, they said, Did you get a call from a reporter?

And he was like, No, no, no, I

I was called scruffy.
