uh corroborating evidence that other per other people had given and they made an application and a lot of that argument was had without Jason Morrison.

So we won't go into it in huge detail.

But um basically instead of uh the Crown saying to Jason Morrison, what did you see?

when you were sitting opposite complainant C, they can say, You saw Alan Jones touch complainant C under the table, didn't you?

Uh and he said no.

But that's like that's the more sort of specific question which you would hear usually in a in a defence cross examination, but at this time it was the prosecution putting those hard questions on him.

Well, uh basically there were a few points that uh as I mentioned the Crown wanted to hit on.

Firstly was this suggestion of whether he saw

the hand allegedly under the table on C's lap.

So uh Georgina Wright said, During lunch, I suggest you saw the defendant with his hand under the table, appearing to have his hand incomplet C's lap, didn't you?

And he said, No I didn't.

And she said, You smirked at C, didn't you?

And he sort of objected to the tone of it.

Um but she asked again, you smirked at C across the table during the lunch and he said, Oh, probably.

We were all sort of smirking and laughing.

But she was asking those questions because other witnesses had given evidence that Jason Morrison was in this group.

smirking and laughing because they had seen something untoward happening across the table and he consistently uh denied it.

She asked questions as well uh about the sort of jokes that were being made uh and the banter.

Jason Morrison said the sort of jokes they were making were

you know, blokey, bantery, it was all about the fact that their friend Complanancy was sitting next to Alan Jones, he was next to the boss, that's not as fun as our end of the table where all of his mates are, and that's what Jason Morrison describes as the tone of the jokes.
