So it is sort of a little bit, maybe it's an old-fashioned notion, or maybe it's a futuristic notion, I don't know, of the idea that the self isn't a stable thing, but it is always to some extent shaped by circumstances, shaped by others, shaped in relation to things.

but then it goes further because then it does sort of like a double a little double thing it's not just about themselves but it's also they happen to also be actors yeah so they're literally acting but they're also just doing them act doing themselves performing themselves yeah so that's why it was sort of i guess fun to have
these particular people who struggle with their performance of self and for whom it has become apparent that they're performing their self, because sometimes these things feel entirely natural.

And they were inspired by the fact that someone from their school went on and did so well.
