A scent of citrus hit me first, followed by mint and fresh pine.
It was so strong, it was more of a chemical smell than anything.
Inside, hanging from everywhere and covering every surface was car air freshener trees and the peel-top cans.
all the fans were on max i made my way to the back bedroom where i could hear moaning saw what i thought was a towel but it was his cat it laid there with a zip tie pulled tight around its neck tongue and eyes were swollen sticking out at nothing jesus just just garrotted his cat my word percy shrieked from the bedroom who is it what what do you want
I got to his bedroom doorframe and looked in.
He was lying on his bed, covered in splotches of blood that ran from where his nose used to be, down his mouth and on his hands.
I kept scratching and picking at it.
Part of his upper lip was gone, just teeth and bloody gums shined back at me.
It sounded like when you pick your fingernails, but it was deeper and wetter as he dug deeper into his nasal cavity.
Meat and skin were under his broken fingernails.
Tears ran down his face.
The smell won't go away.

He cried so hard he started to hiccup.
I don't know.
I really, like off the title, I thought this would be kind of a more goofy, you know, whatever, but I really like the direction this is taking.
Like a supernatural smell taking into it.
