And I want players to excel my expectations.
And he definitely did.
Definitely did.
Well, the job as a manager is to organise a team.
So, organising a team means a lot of things, but it means as well that in the end, the players are in a specific moment when specific things are done, that specific things are possible for them.
And in our specific case, it was like,
With Trent and Robbo we had the most offensive full-backs.
I mean, you can talk about a lot of tactical tweaks here and there in the history of football, but I don't think ever there was a team that was so creative and with such a goal involvement of full-backs.
But we set it up like that, not on day one.
we realised step by step that this is possible and they both have their strength in that department.
But that's how we set up our midfield and that's how we set up our offensive line.
So it all came together and that's the thing.
So we gave
We gave them the freedom to do that.
I think there were times when people said, our midfield doesn't create enough goal threat, for example.
You mentioned that, we had three up front and the full-backs were constantly going.
If they would have been always in the opposition box as well, there would be much to open.
Somebody had to do the dirty work that all the other guys could fly.
But I always said my favourite goal is...
cross from one full-back and finishing the other full-back.
