In nineteen seventies you mentioned, and this is Paul Bryan, the bear, that this woman is, you know, giving the the the rundown to giving him a strong piece of her mind.
And I think it says something that he didn't just walk right out, right?
And you know, again, given given given the stats the the status and the the the
caste system you could even call it then, to to sit there and absorb that and to still welcome her son and still be interested, uh, what do you think that says and what do you think that that element tells us?
Yeah.
So Paul, in hindsight, yeah, Saban seems like the perfect match for Alabama, right?
And and obviously it worked out so well.
But at the time, he's coming in, he's not a Southerner.
He doesn't sound the part of an Alabama coach.
He doesn't necessarily look the part of the Alabama coach with that hair, right?
So uh how how did the the transition, the adaptation to Saban go?
And then ultimately, why do you think it worked?
Something that's interesting is that you mentioned Saban and Alabama has money.
There's rich people, but there's not billionaire class.
As we see professional sports increasingly become the province of the ultra wealthy, right?
$12 billion franchise valuations, $6 billion, $10 billion franchise valuations.
There's a select amount of people that can really play and and invest at that level.
So as college sports tend
are following the model, increasingly becoming professionalized.
Do you think Alabama will be able to keep pace with, you know, we see Larry Ellison funding a quarterback at Michigan, for example, right?
