On Wednesday, an ESPN story detailed the role of the Busses' families in fighting and how it led to the $10 billion sale of one of the NBA's most storied franchises.
The article also included reporting about issues in the relationship between Jeannie Buss,
and LeBron James, chronicling frustrations in recent years.
Between the two, though, Jeannie Buss has issued a statement.
She came out and said, ah, come on, it's really not that right, given all the great things LeBron has done for the Lakers, that he has to be pulled into my family drama.
So she was not disputing the family drama aspect, but this whole LeBron part, she tried to shoot down.
But any takeaways from this detailed article here from Baxter Holmes, who, he's like Groundhog, he's like Puxatani Phil, he comes out once a year with like a
Big NBA story.
Yeah, you never want to see your team's name in a headline followed by buy Baxter Holtz because you know it's going to be bad.
This is a fun read.
It's like a 20-minute read of just rich people problems.
It's like a season of succession.
Yes.
Nobody in the Lakers ownership group, the buses, it feels like they have no other possible idea besides owning the Lakers because every single time they're like, if we sell it, what would we do?
I don't know, by the Lakers.
I also thought that was pretty funny.
The LeBron stuff got the most headlines.
Headlines, because of course it is LeBron, so not a huge surprise that Jeannie has maintained a big enough share to stay as the governor of the team, so she'll be around for a little bit.
Has to come out and kind of like...
poo-poo that sort of stuff but it did to me still seem like nobody is ever going to take the blame for this Russell Westbrook trade like completely changed the face of the Lakers franchise when they shipped him to Washington or got him from Washington from for KCP and Kyle Kuzma essentially some other stuff thrown in there as well but that was a big salary slot and it really just set the Lakers back and it's like LeBron said no thank you GD buses saying no thank you somehow this guy just showed up on our team
