The district attorney do, they trump up your case.
So they be like, all right.
they'll charge you with the highest thing just so they know that you're going to plead out to something that's lesser.
So they'll know like, oh man, this is a GBI or this is a fist fight.
This is a regular assault, but they're going to charge you with attempted murder.
Or they're going to let you know, look, we can get you with attempted murder.
But if you take this five years or this probation or this probation with a strike or assault with a deadly weapon, we'll give it to you right now.
And then you'll be like, dang, my maximum exposure time is life.
They can give you life for anything it seems like nowadays.
