There's an appreciation for that.
You think about Quentin Morris and what he was doing on special teams and how he had to get it done on that before he got a chance to get on the field.
And then when he got his opportunities, he took advantage of those and he's rewarded by coming back.
Same thing with Gardak.
That does wonders for the locker room because everyone that comes in, no matter what level, they believe that if I do the right things, if I play really well, I'm a chance to be here for a long time.
So to me, that's the best part of setting the culture is rewarding the guys at a real cultural fit.

It would have been easy for him last year when you bring in a first-round pick like Travis Hunter.
You have some other guys come in, Jordan Lewis.
They previously drafted Jarrion Jones with a third-round pick.
he never stopped working.
He never got discouraged or allowed that discouragement to prevent him from putting on his best when he got his chances.
And I would say that he learned lessons from those early struggles and kept fighting.
And last year, man, you can make the case on the perimeter, he was the best corner, the most consistent corner.
Despite them bringing in Newsom and other guys, he was the consistent presence on the edge, in the perimeter.
And sometimes, man, it takes someone really earning it
going the hard road to make you have a greater appreciation for him.
And I think the coaching staff in the front office has a great appreciation for his journey and how he took advantage of those opportunities when he had them, in spite of the odds that were against him getting those chances.
