It's your onside kick.
But, I mean, I still, I don't know.
I still love the old style where you could just kick and surprise people.
But those days are over.
I do too, but it's long gone.
So, I mean, that's, you know, it's like talking to an empty room.
I also like the wishbone, so whatever.
That's fine.
Rule number two, to eliminate the kicking team's incentive to intentionally kick the ball out of bounds when kicking off from the 50-yard line.
Very confusing.
So if it's a kick out of bounds, it's a certain amount of yardage from where the ball was kicked where the receiving team gets the football.
So when there was a penalty, let's say on the extra point, the kickoff would be at midfield.
Mm-hmm.
It's more advantageous for the kicking team to kick it out of bounds because they get it at, like, the 20 instead of letting them return it to the 30-whatever.
Right.
So that's why you saw a few instances last year of teams intentionally kicking it out of bounds on the kickoff.
I saw it on the Thanksgiving game, Chiefs-Cowboys.
That happened at one point.
When it first happened, I was like, what in the world is going on?
It goes out to the 40.
