Super surprised, almost shocked.
But based upon the situation where he's going into the last year to steal and they're going into a rebuild mode,
I totally understand it as well.
And I think Kawhi, it was a really, really difficult decision for him, more than he'll ever admit, to leave Toronto.
He had such an amazing experience.
It absolutely far exceeded everything he ever thought he would experience living in Canada, playing in Toronto, playing for the Raptors, winning a title, and more importantly, how well people treated him.
And I think he really has a soft spot in his heart for that.
And, yeah, look, he's a calculated guy.
He's looking and saying, hey, I want to play beyond one year.
Who's going to give me an extension?
Don't kid yourself.
That's there.
But I also think he looks at this roster and the warm feelings he has for playing here.
And no doubt this has happened.
It's funny.
In 2018, I was on the golf course at Niagara Falls Country Club.
In 2019, I was on the golf course.
When he left the Raptors, I had to be pulled off at Cabot.
And now today, I'm at Country Club of Buffalo, and I'm walking a fair way with my buddies here.
