He's not bad defensively in terms of his positioning and in terms of his instincts.
He can put the puck in the net, he can find space, but it's all about surrounding him with wingers who are bigger and who are more physical, but who can also play the game.
So, you know, if Montreal ends up missing on Shane Wright, I think Marco Rossi is a player that they can also take a look at.
I understand that he's on the smaller side and Demidov is not big and Swarovski is not big and Michael Hage is not big.
But again, you know, who was the second line center on the most recent Stanley Cup champions?
It was Logan Stankoven, a player with a very similar build and very similar sort of overall style of play as Rossi.
I mean, it's certainly possible, right?
And I think he definitely surpassed, I would say, most reasonable observer's expectation of what his year was going to be.
He shot close to 20% on Demidov's wing, which obviously was unexpected.
If he could be your number three center, then you've got a really solid team.
And the thing with him is, again, with Wright, is he doesn't have one overwhelming quality.
He just does a few things well in terms of being good positionally and finishing on plays.
But then again, is he going to shoot 20% next year?
I don't know.
So I just think if Seattle is selling low on Shane Wright or Vancouver is selling low on Marco Rossi and people are buying high on Barrett Hayton next summer...
maybe Oliver Kapanen can be a really good trade ship.
to get something that really helps the Canadians and, and kind of can be produced productive sort of in, in a playoff context, because we saw that in the playoffs, he needed a second line center to step up.
Captain wasn't really that guy.
