This year, it goes or it goes.
So it's true that we've seen very little of him in the National League.
He's a player who has been picked up in a very active way.
He's a player with a size and a style that is ideal for this team.
But he has to stay healthy and achieve his full potential.
So if we saw the Carolina exchange Scott Morrow, a very promising young right-back,
but who has not yet done his tests in the National League to go look for a real number one or a real dominant defender like Keandre Miller, the fact of exchanging Ryan Backer should stay on the table.
Because again, if we stay stuck with him and he doesn't develop as a second defender, we're a little bit in the way.
In fact, I would be even more aggressive at that point.
We talk about not falling in love with his players, not falling in love with where a player has been picked.
If I don't see something extraordinary from Ryan Backer in January 20-27, I would change him.
The thing with Ryan Bakker is that I have confidence in this physical game as much as he can stay healthy.
Because it's not necessarily a player in the style of an Arbor Jackal who will hit, who will fight.
But I think that certainly, to his full potential, he's a better player than a Sean Walker.
Because he's bigger, he skates better, he has a better touch with the washer, he's a right-hander.
He's bigger, heavier.
And Sean Walker, he's a player who's going to hit, but he's also a player who can take.
And if Ryan Backer is healthy, he's in full possession of his means, I think he can be a player in that style.
Yes, and you know, an example that I would raise, is if we ever see that Ryan Barker starts to drop,
we don't have much time to react.
