Evai's not only trying to establish himself as an an NHL regular, he's trying to do it on a team that doesn't have time to wait for him to see whether he can do it.
I mean they need him to do it.
In other words, the Oilers are not at the same stage that at least at this point Levi is in his career.
You either do it or you're not going to play.
That's really what it amounts to.
Whereas when he broke into the NHL, the Sabres could give him some room, give him some room to have some Rocky starts.
But the Oilers are not in that position.
They cannot afford to be patient for a guy and give him ten to fifteen starts to see if he can find his game.
Because it could mean the difference in home ice advantage in one of the rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
And that's what the Oilers are about here in the next three to five years.
