Kane and Bellingham are playing fantastically well, but Rice, Stones, James and Saka I think are all for various different reasons not at 100%.

And those are the players I think England really need.

So it's not just Kane and Bellingham who have to dig them out every time.

What do you think is going to happen on Sunday, Jack?

Well, look, I think that if England... My big worry from an English perspective is the first quarter of the game, basically.

Because England were utterly abysmal in the first quarter against DR Congo and Atlanta.

And Mexico were sensational in the first quarter against Ecuador in their last 32 game.

And if England start badly, I think there's a chance they could lose the game early on.

But if England can dig in and keep Mexico at bay and maybe frustrate the crowd a bit...

then I think they can build a platform from which England's superior individual quality will tell.

But they're going to have to work incredibly hard to get to that point.

If England can just keep it 0-0 for a while, I think eventually Kane and Bellingham will come up with something because they're world-class players.

And frankly, I think they're better than any individual players that Mexico have got.

But I do worry that if Mexico play at full physical intensity, then I think that England's sloppiness and their lack of defensive structure could really be the undoing of them, particularly in the first half.

Oh, yes.

England have never needed their captain more.

It was a very strange game.

I thought that England were so poor for certainly the first 20 minutes when they went 1-0 down.

It really felt quite a lot like Iceland at that point.
