And I was glad I had my rosary in that moment.
And I look over and I see Erica and I see the parents and, you know, and they were there.
They were strong.
They had grace.
They did not flinch.
And they sat down and had very stern looks on their faces.
And it was very obvious that they wanted to see justice done for what happened to their son and husband.
I did, as a matter of fact, and it's something that I noted when it happened.
Like I said, there's no discussion in the courtroom, so I didn't even know if anyone else had noticed it, and I didn't realize that it had kind of taken on a life of its own.
I later found out that, you know, obviously it was being reported and had gone quite viral, but in that moment, it was just something that I noted, looking over, saying,
charlie's wife and his mother are here and they're in tears and you're just gonna act like that like even even if you're you know presumption of innocence okay sure but you know that these people lost somebody and you know that there's a human element to this and a human toll and don't you think just maybe have a little bit of respect and basic human decency towards someone else and um
I got pretty angry when I saw that.
I'll just say that.
It didn't sit well with me.
I couldn't agree more.
It's inhuman behavior.
It's unhuman behavior.
And, you know, I was surprised, too, that no, you know.
recognition of his own family that's that's been there in the room as mother and father and you know what we know that's come out is that uh it seemed like they did not have a particularly close relationship i think he'd essentially been kind of thrown out of the house because of the lifestyle and that's been in some of the reporting and i'm sure we'll get more of that when uh when twigs's testimony comes up which we expect to come up either today or tomorrow and um
that being said they're still they are there they have been there every single day and you'd think that on some level if your own mother was in a courtroom there for you right regardless of what you did you know that your mother's there for you because that's a mother's love and you don't even turn around to your own mother i just i i can't
