I remember Emmanuel quickly being his most lethal when he had the ball in semi or full transition and it sprinted out to a corner and it's just, oh, that thing is up.

That's gone.

And he was super aggressive at getting it shot up.

And obviously the floater has always been really, really good.

It's always been a real big part of his game, particularly at Madison Square Garden.

and i remember s doing a really big piece on this when quickly first got to uh toronto i'm sure you have done lots of pieces i'm sure lewis everyone everyone has had their their quickly spiel right it's just in today's game i need my guard to do more

I mean, it's always been the confidence in his dribble, in the paint and the early pickup points and a more creative array of passing.

and a more diverse sort of package of finishing at the rim as opposed to before the rim.

And if it's not going to be that, because not everyone has to be Steve Nash, it would have had to have been some sort of step up and probably like an improvement in his physical frame to be a more tenacious on-ball defender.

I feel like everyone's best role in the NBA is playing that off-ball, free safety role where they get to roam and use their, no pun intended, IQ.

If you have Scotty Barnes, you're not going to get to do that.

If you have Brandon Ingram, you'd probably rather Brandon Ingram did that.

If CMB is seeing minutes on the floor, you'd probably rather CMB does that as well.

So you can't be the guy that sort of lifts from the corner and goes and strips the ball as some guy's driving on every single possession.

I just think that

either has to it would have been nice if there was a lane picked and it was my offensive game is going to diversify and i'm really going to go away and work on the handle i'm not saying that he didn't sure that he did or there was some sort of like bulking frame to the point where it could be a more serviceable point of attack defender because um i i just finished before the pod watching um

all the plays from a game against Portland earlier in the season, and him trying to contain the nuclear athlete that is Shaden Sharp was just a little bit funny at times.

And it's like, oh, he's fouled Shaden there, and then Shaden's done a dunk that would have won in the dunk contest afterwards.

So I need to see him become an 8 out of 10 on either side of the ball, and I don't know if he's quite there yet.

And I was going to go to Tyrese because Tyrese will often do that reverse back out to above the break, but it's almost like he creates a swirl of backwash behind him and there's driving havoc because his drive has had to demand such attention.
