The thing about comedy is it was such a sort of a career that you really... But you become quite self-centred and quite selfish.

It's quite cutthroat, the world of comedy, when we came up through the business.

Well, because you're all trying to get a job.

You know, not all of us could be Rove.

Not all of us could be that boring and successful at the same time.

But, you know, you really had to work.

So whilst we stood next to the rider and smashed cans and carried on like maniacs, it wasn't, you know, it was strange.

I've got a couple of great friends out of comedy and that's kind of all I've had room for.

Because the other thing about getting cancelled, Jack, was I shed so many parts of my life.

How many people vanished out of your circle?

Oh, mate, so many.

Really?

You wouldn't believe.

I just deleted and blocked.

Yeah.

Well, that and also because I thought, well, here's a real chance now to just reset my life.

You know... I've been given this opportunity now to just go again.

I'm 20 months sober now.
