I think it's an interesting question.
Could you formulate the Everett approach with something like a hopping Cartesian ego that is really choosing between observers in some probabilistic way, which we can really talk about probabilities?
That's an interesting question.
But without it.
You can't appeal to the kind of intuition that we take from a hopping Cartesian ego and you're stuck in the situation that Emily was talking about.
There's no process, there's no choosing going on.
And so we can't appeal to the intuition we have in that case in order to make sense of probability in these circumstances.
