Yeah, no, Apple, it's definitely in Apple's interest for folks to want to trade in their phones, and that's why you can still get a pretty significant discount.
And also, it's worth pointing out, you know, when the iPhone X is rumored to be worth, to cost significantly more than previous models, you know, that factors into it, too.
Yeah, no, consumers definitely want to get the newest device possible.

cachet to being able to be trendy and have the newest device.
What's getting in the way is their contract.
If you locked in last year to a two-year contract when you got the iPhone 7, you're not going to be able to trade in your iPhone 7 for the newest models that were announced today without paying an early termination fee in most cases.
Yeah, you definitely need to weigh how much you really want the new iPhone.
If you're within that two-year realm of the original contract that you got when you got the iPhone 7, it may not be worth it.
It may be pretty expensive.
It may be worth it to hold on to that device longer and be able to trade it in in the future.
Keep in mind that Apple has been releasing products pretty much every year.
So it's only a matter of time before another new iPhone comes out.
And you may be you may be smarter to save and hold on to that phone for longer so that you get a better trade in value and don't have to pay that fee.
Yeah, as Samsung definitely has the same challenges.
You know, what's interesting about the resale market is, you know, you do see that iPhone users do tend to hold on to their devices longer, and that's largely because they're more expensive.
So Samsung users, because their phones are typically cheaper than iPhones, or Android users, they tend to trade in more quickly.
But there's a lot of the same dynamics at play.
You know, you have to pay attention to your contract.
Make sure there are not early termination fees and things like that.
