She played 14 AAA in Colorado, and she was an absolute beast out there.
She wasn't afraid to hit.
But then after that, once she switched to girls hockey, once I really started developing my game is when I probably learned more from her about just positioning and skating and being in the right position with your stick and stuff once she started playing girls hockey and wasn't able to hit as much.
But, no, she was an unbelievable defenseman and definitely learned a lot from her.
Yeah, it was really hard.
I wouldn't say is the right word.
It was interesting because, like you said, I've never been injured.
The injury that I had at the beginning of the season was a super weird, fluky injury in my knee.
I had a little stress fracture in it, but, like, second game of the year, trying to come back because it happened probably a month before training camp started.
And then I tried to come back from it, and my knee just gave out on me.
But it wasn't like a...
wasn't like my muscle I don't know it was just a really weird injury so um when I look at a big picture I honestly I go back to to my faith again and just say like God had his timing in it for all of it and even the fact like I come back play three games hurt my shoulder and then out for another three and a half weeks at that point I'm not sure if the Olympics are going to happen um and then play maybe for for three weeks before the Olympics and
Billy Guerin had called me saying, hey, we're still going to take you.
We'll just see where you're at right before.
And so I think all of it, honestly, was just God preparing my body to be able to go on the long run, to be able to play in the Olympics and then make a long Stanley Cup run.
So just really trusted in the process.
And again,
Through that whole time, never lost my joy.
Never lost the love for the game or just the love for Christ just because, again, my joy is not found in hockey, whether I'm injured or whether I'm healthy.
It's just my joy is found in the Lord.
