But today we're discussing the topic of equity perps, their recent surge in adoption, as well as some of their current pitfalls.

You just published a report titled Equity Perfs Are Nothing Without Equity Spot, which is funny.
I like that.
But you argued that the lack of the twenty-four-seven minting and redemption for tokenized equities, the reliance on oracles for pricing data, inability for arbitragers to operate outside of business hours introduces risks that are essentially keeping institutions on the sidelines.

in the show notes, but Alex, before we dive too deep in the weeds, can you kind of give us a brief explanation of what equity perps are for those who may not have heard of them before or maybe just need a quick refresher here?
Yeah.
In the report you also mentioned instances where equity perps succeed as well as where they don't, kind of following on that notion, uh, maybe tracking the prices there too.
Can you kind of elaborate on this and explain why perps maybe work in some aspects and then fall short in others?
I also am curious, can they apply to everything?
Or is it limited to certain markets that are probably much more liquid?
